Details
Replacement front USB flex cable for the PlayStation 5. This is the ribbon that carries both front ports back to the mainboard, and when it fails the symptoms are specific: controllers that will not charge from the front, a PS VR2 that is not detected, external drives that never mount, or a "USB not supported" message.
It fails through ordinary use — a cable tugged sideways, or the ribbon fatiguing where it flexes — rather than through anything you did wrong. Replacing it is far cheaper than the board-level repair a shop will quote if they diagnose the port itself instead of the cable behind it.
Fits: PS5 disc and Digital Edition, models CFI-10xx, CFI-11xx and CFI-12xx. Check the model number on the sticker at the back before ordering, or send us a photo and we will confirm it.
Fitting it: the console has to come apart, which will affect a Sony warranty if yours is still covered — check that first. If you would rather not open it, we fit these at the Deira workshop, usually while you wait, and test both ports under load before it goes back to you.
