You can hear callers on speaker but not against your ear, or the sound is faint and crackling. Usually the earpiece speaker itself, sometimes just the mesh clogged with dust and lint — we clean before we replace, because a surprising number of these need nothing more than that.
Loudspeaker Faults
Distorted, muffled or silent on media and speakerphone. Often the speaker module rather than the board, which keeps it a straightforward repair.
Wi-Fi Dropping
Falling off the network close to the router as well as far from it points at the phone, not your broadband.
Cracked Back Glass
From the iPhone 8 onwards the back glass is laminated to the frame and has to be removed with a laser — this is not a panel that simply unclips.
Face ID Not Working
The honest answer first: the dot projector is paired to your phone at the factory and cannot be transferred from another handset, so Face ID cannot be restored by fitting a donor module.
Boot Loops And Failed Restores
A phone stuck on the Apple logo, or one that fails partway through every restore attempt. Sometimes genuinely software, and when it is we say so, because that costs you a diagnosis and nothing else. Often it is not — a failing flash chip or damage from an earlier drop produces exactly the same symptoms, and repeating the restore just wastes the afternoon.

Most screen and battery work is under an hour at the bench. Board-level repairs and back glass take longer because they need proper testing afterwards, and we would rather book those in than rush them.

Often not. Compacted pocket lint in the port is the single most common cause and costs nothing to clear, so we always check that before quoting for a replacement. If the port genuinely has failed it is a soldered part, which makes it bench work rather than a swap.

It depends on what your phone shipped with. Every iPhone from the X onwards except the XR and the 11 uses OLED, which gives true blacks and better contrast because each pixel lights itself; the LCD models use a backlight behind the whole panel. Fitting an LCD to a phone that came with OLED is cheaper and it is what a lot of shops quietly do — the colours look flatter, blacks turn grey, and always-on display stops behaving. We tell you which type we are fitting before we do it, and price both so you can choose knowingly. One thing worth knowing whichever you pick: True Tone is tied to the original panel, so unless the data is transferred across during the repair it is lost. We move it where the model allows.
