What Comes Across The Bench
The faults we see most on Xbox in Dubai
No Picture At The TV
Console powers up, fan spins, screen stays black. On the Series X the HDMI port is soldered to the board and takes the force when a cable is knocked, so a bent pin or a cracked joint is enough to kill the signal entirely.
Discs Won't Read
Worth knowing before anyone quotes you a drive swap: the Series X optical drive is paired to the console's boards, so a drive lifted from another Xbox will not work. The fix is transplanting your original drive PCB onto a donor mechanism.
Overheating And Shutdowns
The Series X pulls air straight up through a vapour chamber, which works well until Dubai dust packs the intake. Symptoms escalate from a louder fan to throttling to a hard shutdown mid-session.
USB Ports Not Working
Controllers that won't charge, drives that won't mount. The port has usually taken a knock, and we check the pads underneath as well as the port itself.
Fan Noise Or Failure
A single large fan does all the work on a Series X, so when its bearing goes the noise is unmistakable and the cooling drops off fast. Replacement is straightforward and worth doing before the heat causes something else.
Won't Power On
No light, no fan, nothing. The internal supply ages badly in this climate and is a common casualty of mains spikes. We test it under load rather than swapping parts to find out.
Storage Faults
Long loads, crashes on launch, or games that will not install. The Series X uses a custom internal SSD, so this is a board-level diagnosis rather than a drive you can simply unscrew and replace at home.
Drops Off The Network
Falling off Wi-Fi close to the router as well as far from it points at the console's antenna path, not your broadband. Wired-but-not-wireless narrows it immediately.
Freezing And Crashing
Random lock-ups during gameplay. We check thermals and storage before touching the software, because both imitate a firmware fault convincingly.
Stuck On An Update
A console that fails partway through every system update, or boots into the troubleshooter and stays there. Sometimes genuinely software — and when it is, we tell you, because that costs a diagnosis and nothing more.

Can you just swap the disc drive from another Xbox?
No. The Series X drive is paired to the console's boards, so a donor drive will not work.
Do you still repair the 360 and the original Xbox?
Yes. Older consoles are mostly capacitor, laser and thermal work, and parts remain obtainable for the faults that actually turn up.
Can I wait at the workshop while you fix it?
For most jobs, yes — ports, fans, thermal servicing and controller work are all done at the bench while you wait.
Why does my Series X shut down mid-game?
Dust packed into the intake is the usual cause here. The Series X draws air straight up through a vapour chamber, and once that path is blocked the console throttles and then protects itself by shutting down.
Is a black screen always the HDMI port?
Not always, but usually. If the fan spins and the light is on, the port is the first thing we check under the microscope.
What will an Xbox repair cost me?
It depends on the fault, so we won't put a number on it before looking. Diagnosis is free, the price is agreed with you first, and nothing begins without your say-so.
Will I lose my games and saves?
Nothing is wiped for a port, fan or thermal repair. Storage faults are the exception, so back up to the cloud before you bring it in if the console still boots at all.
My disc drive was replaced elsewhere and now reads nothing.
That is the pairing problem. A donor drive cannot talk to your boards, and the fix is moving your original drive PCB across to the replacement mechanism.

Either. Collection is free anywhere in Dubai, or walk into the workshop and wait for most repairs.
