Details
Ribbon flex cable for the Switch 2 Joy-Con shoulder buttons, covering ZR, ZL and L. When it fails the shoulder buttons stop registering or fire intermittently while the sticks and face buttons keep working normally — that pattern points at the cable rather than the buttons.
Flex cables crease and fatigue with use, and shoulder buttons take the most abuse on any controller. Replacement is bench work and usually done while you wait.
